Human on the Moon is the title of the 1999 film, based on a unusual life & career of comedian Andy Kaufman.
A picture show, starring Jim Carrey and directed by Miloš Forman, begins at Kaufman's childhood, where professional people watch him performing notional tv program for stuffed brute. A story traces Kaufman's steps through the many comedy clubs, and televisiin appearances that mass produced him renowned, including his memorable appearances on Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman, Fridays, and his role when a lovable "Latka Gravas" on the television sitcom, Taxi.
This film occurs as look behind a scenes of tons of the within jokes, cozenage & put-ons that Kaufman was far-famed for.
A film besides stars Danny DeVito as Kaufman's manager, Courtney Love, and Paul Giamatti as Bob Zmuda. Numerous of Kaufman's realistic friends & costars too pop up in the film (although non neccesarily when themselves) including DeVito, Zmuda, David Letterman, professional matman Jerry Lawler, Budd Friedman, Jeff Conaway, Marilu Henner, Judd Hirsch, Christopher Lloyd, and Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.
A picture featured music by rock band R.E.M. including a song, also called "Man on the Moon", from their 1992 album Automatic for the People and the Grammy nominated "The Great Beyond".
